Word Culture

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026

The short version

This policy explains what data the Word Culture app (the "app") and the website wordculture.site handle, and why. It applies to the Android and iOS versions of the app.

Who we are

Word Culture is developed and published by Caner Sahin, an individual developer based in Türkiye, who is the data controller for the purposes of this policy. You can reach us at [email protected].

Data stored on your device

To let you continue where you left off, the app saves the following on your device only:

This data does not identify you, and we cannot access it. It is deleted when you use Settings → Reset progress on this device or uninstall the app.

If your device's own backup is turned on (for example Android backup to Google Drive, or iCloud Backup on iOS), this data may be included in that backup. That backup is managed by Google or Apple under their privacy policies.

Optional cloud save

Cloud save is off by default. If you turn on Settings → Save progress to cloud, your game progress (the same data listed above) is stored in your own account:

We do not run our own servers and cannot see this data. You can remove it at any time with Settings → Delete cloud data.

Purchases

The first 10 levels are free. The full game is a one-time purchase made through Google Play or the App Store. Google or Apple process the payment; we never receive your card or payment details.

To check whether you own the full game and to let you restore it on other devices, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. When the app starts, RevenueCat receives:

RevenueCat processes this data on our behalf, only to provide purchase features. It is not used for advertising.

Data we do not collect

Children

Word Culture is designed for players of all ages, including children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app has no account sign-up, no chat, no ads and no links to social media. Purchases are protected by a parental gate (a question an adult has to answer) and by the purchase controls of Google Play and the App Store.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Legal basis

Under the EU/UK GDPR and Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK), we process data to provide the app you asked for (performance of a contract), and cloud save only with your choice to turn it on. Purchase records are kept as long as needed to provide your purchase and to meet legal obligations.

International transfers

RevenueCat, Google and Apple may process data in the United States and other countries. They use safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for these transfers.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to a data protection authority (in Türkiye, the KVKK Board; in the EU, your local authority).

Most of your data is on your device and under your control: reset it or delete the cloud copy in Settings. For purchase records held by RevenueCat, email us at [email protected]. We may ask for your store transaction ID (from your Google Play or Apple receipt) to find your record. We will reply within 30 days.

Security

Data sent to RevenueCat, Google and Apple is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Data on your device is protected by your device's own security.

This website

wordculture.site uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. Like any website, our hosting provider and Cloudflare process your IP address and basic request data to deliver and protect the site. The pages load the Nunito font from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when you open them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects what data the app collects, we will also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
